The Home and School Association (similar to a PTA or PTO in a public school) consists of many of the parents of Assumption School. Our function is to support the school, its mission and purpose with our energy, enthusiasm, and time—all to help make our children’s school experience as vital and rewarding as possible. Involved parents foster involved students. The Home and School Association presents one avenue for parents to get involved in the education of their children and to form a partnership between school and home.
Specifically, the Home and School Association is responsible for helping the school meet it’s overall operating budget. Each year, the Association is given a fund raising goal. Various fundraisers are planned to attain the goal and ensure that the material needs of the school are met. Our diverse events make fund raising “fun raising” at Assumption. Our events involve as many participants as possible, and represent a great way for parents and children to socialize and get to know each other.
We also are called upon to run certain special events that have become long-standing traditions with the children that they (and parents) look forward to all year long. These extra-curricular activities help the Home and School Association build school spirit and foster a sense of community within our school—two very important goals of the Association.
The Home and School Association holds monthly meetings on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30pm in the Library. These meetings are open to everyone at the school. We hope to see you at the meetings!
The Home and School Association Executive Board is the smaller planning group for the entire Association. We have monthly meetings and encourage all parents to attend or get involved in any way that they can. We look forward to another great year for Assumption School, its students, and our families!
The Executive Board consists of the following members:
