Thank you for considering entrusting your child’s education to Assumption School. Our dedicated faculty and staff work in partnership with parents to ensure that children receive a well-rounded education, establish a strong academic foundation, and grow intellectually, spiritually and socially.
We know that educational decisions, which parents make for their children, aren’t easy. That’s why we offer school tours and the opportunity for students to visit our school and sit in on classes for a day. Our Parent Ambassadors are available to share their experience with you and our principal, Mrs. Marguerite Ouellette, is also available to answer questions that you have.
To schedule a tour, visit, or for additional information about Assumption School, contact Mrs. Marguerite Ouellette at 860-649-0889 or click here to send an electronic message.
At Assumption School, we welcome children and families of all faiths and ethnicities. Our culturally diverse student body enriches the educational experiences both inside and outside our classrooms.
Registration forms are available in the school office in January for the following school year. Rolling admission is available throughout the school year on a space available basis.
Age Requirements: Children may be enrolled in our Pre-K program at age three. To be eligible for Kindergarten enrollment, children must be age five by December 31st.
Screening: All students entering kindergarten will be screened and evaluated by the kindergarten teacher in the spring before they enter kindergarten.
General Requirements: For admission of all new pupils, parents must present the child’s birth certificate or some legal verification of the child’s birth, baptismal certificate, proof of immunization against measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria (3 times) and Polio (3 times), Hepatitis (3 times) and Varicella. Admission forms documenting these requirements are part of the Enrollment package provided by the school office.
Transfer students are accepted following a review of school records, an interview with parents and student, and a brief written placement test administered by a member of our faculty.
Admission priority is given, first, to students completing Pre-K at Assumption School, followed by siblings of current students or graduates, parishioners of Assumption Church, Catholics who are parishioners of another parish, non-Catholics, and finally the date of registration.
